The Kids' Breakfast Club
2019-2020 Volunteer of the Year
Cynthia Vertiz Jimenez
The Kids' Breakfast Club is excited to announce the 2019-2020 Hayward Volunteer of the Year.
Cynthia is the quintessential high school student. She is incredibly dedicated to her academic goals, she is concerned about quality of life issue of children, and she is not afraid to roll up her sleeves and volunteer to help others. Cynthia is a Junior at Tennyson High School and she is a Puente Project Student. Cynthia has been a volunteer with TKBC for three years and she has been an outstanding leader in our organization. Cynthia has forgone every winter and spring break vacation for the past three years and she has volunteered with us at all of our sites. She knows every aspect of TKBC and she engages with participating families and children with compassion and empathy. Cynthia is an excellent cook and she teaches classmates how to cook and serve breakfast to kids and their families. While not paid, Cynthia has never missed a date to volunteer, she always arrives early and leaves last, and she executes every task with professionalism. Cynthia is a leader at school and she is a leader in the community. TKBC is entirely supported by volunteers and she has certainly set an incredibly high standard for all TKBC volunteers.
We are proud of Cynthia and she will represent this honor with integrity and enthusiasm. Cynthia will be honored at the annual Hearts of Hayward dinner in October at St. Rose Hospital.
